Western Lifestyle Themed Apps For Fort Worth, Texas

Margaret L. Brown has an article in the latest edition of Cowboys and Indians sharing some very cool apps for the Cool Cowboy or Cowgirl in Fort Worth Texas.  These apps will put the Giddy Up in your  iPad or iPhone.

Star Walk. When you’re out under the stars hold up your iPhone up to the sky.  The app’s digital compass will calculate your location and the screen lights with the stars above you their names and the names of the constellations.  Tap on a star to magnify and learn more about it.  It’s $2.99 at the Apple App Store.  This so Cool!

Roy Rogers Radio Show.  A Retro App that brings back the era of Roy Rogers and Dale Evans.  The show aired for nine years back in the forty’s before becoming a TV show in 1951.  $0.99, compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod

Rascal Flats.  There are several country acts with their own apps but the Rascal Flats app is a standout.  It has streaming music, pictures and their tour information…plus 22 full-length videos and it’s Free.

Wild West Pinball.  This is one of my favorites, it has the feel of a real time time pinball machine.  Work your way through the Bank Robbery, the Indian Village and Kill Dirty Harry and as with many Westerns please stay out of Jail.

Marvel Comics.  The app is Free and the comics look great on an iPad.  The prices for the comics vary.  Great starters are The Rawhide Kid or The Sensational Seven.

Movie Vault.  You can relive the cowboy matinees of yesteryear with this app.  Thousands of movies and for $4.99 you can watch Gene and Roy anytime you want.  Get the Kid On in you.

Zinio Magazine Newsstand and Reader.  Want to get online subscriptions this app is for that.  The app is free but the subscriptions are discount from the hard copies and there bonus materials for most.

I hope you enjoyed learning about these great new apps.

Happy Trails,
