Stockyards Championship Rodeo


Every Friday and Saturday night at 8:00 p.m. the Stockyards Championship Rodeo at Cowtown Coliseum in the Stockyards National Historic District, features bull riding, barrel racing, calf roping and more, starting at 8:00 p.m.. Pawnee Bill’s Wild West show, a reenactment of the original Wild West show, provides a look at Western history, including trick shooting, roping, riding and cowboy songs.

The Fort Worth holiday season will be a lot “cooler” thanks to a new outdoor ice skating rink coming to Panther Island. The Trinity River Vision Authority is delivering a seasonal ice rink that will debut November 22 and operate until January 5. Panther Island Ice, Fort Worth’s first outdoor ice skating rink, will be located at Coyote Drive-In and will have the Downtown skyline as a picturesque backdrop. In addition to public ice skating, Panther Island Ice will also offer Santa Clause appearances and seasonal music. Bring your families out and come enjoy the holiday season with us!

Some of the most celebrated works of modern art are coming to the Kimbell Art Museum in the fall of 2013. The Art Institute of Chicago holds one of the greatest collections of modern European art in the world. In the largest loan of its kind from the Art Institute, nearly 100 works from this collection will be traveling to the Kimbell Art Museum. The only venue for the exhibition, the Kimbell will present The Age of Picasso and Matisse: Modern Masters from the Art Institute of Chicago from October 6, 2013, through February 16, 2014.
